Overview

Aspire Academy is the only leadership and entrepreneurship program in Romania where Harvard, Stanford and Wharton professors teach and inspire. It is dedicated to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The program develops the world’s future leaders, using a blend of leadership, entrepreneurship and personal development case studies closely following the Harvard Business School curricula.

Our program is based on three fundamental pillars: 

1. Entrepreneurship - Exclusive Harvard Business School curriculum, which teaches students not only how to create and sustain a business but also how to manage failure.
2. Personal development - Communication and self-development workshops and self-awareness  team-based projects which offer participants the opportunity to discover the factors that motivate and drive them.
3. Leadership - A mix of Harvard Business School case studies based on successful leadership stories from around the world, and interactive panels with regional leaders from various professional fields.

What is in the Aspire Academy curricula? 

Previous editions have included lectures and workshops led by Harvard University instructors. Here are a few:

• Examining stories of leadership and management
• What it takes to be a leader
• Writing a business plan for a campaign
• Measuring the success of your company and team
• Canvassing speech writers
• Business and ethics
• Strategic planning
• Introduction to negotiations

Eligibility

• Undergraduate and postgraduate students, under 25 years old. 
• You must demonstrate an active leadership track. What do we mean by that? You should be committed to bringing about positive change in your communities, schools and respective countries, be it through entrepreneurship, student clubs, NGOs, sports, or others. You must also show a genuine engagement with your community, through a solid volunteering track record or community activism.
• We are also searching for students who have intellectual and emotional maturity. What do we mean? We are not looking for students who only have perfect scores, but rather for those who are passionate about learning and have demonstrated excellence in one or more fields of study. Participation in national and international competitions and projects is considered a plus.
• Additionally, we believe our alumni have driven personalities. No, it doesn’t mean that they’re pushy. Rather, they show a willingness to go outside their comfort zone, take risks and learn from them. Therefore, we seek young people who have demonstrated energy and determination during both individual and group projects and assignments.
• Last but not least, it is imperative that applicants have a strong command of English, as the program is 100% English-based.

Cost for a participant:

The fee for the 2015 edition of Aspire Academy is 290 euros. The fee covers room and board - i.e. accommodation and 3 meals/day - for the entire duration of the program, as well as all other program-related costs.

This year, we’re aiming to make our Aspire programs as financially affordable as ever, which is why we are offering a series of scholarships to admitted candidates!

Our selection process is entirely need-blind and we offer full and partial scholarships to all those who need our support! That is to say, you first apply, receive your offer, and only afterwards will you need to apply for financial aid. If you do, we will then have a second interview, aimed at assessing your financial need, only.

Remember, if you are the one we are looking for, then our program's fee will not hold you from attending Aspire this summer!
