Five finalists will be selected. The winners will be
announced by the end of June. Your company have the opportunity to become a partner in
launching Eniros next innovation.
THE CHALLENGE
- Must be new and innovative for Eniro
- Integrated or added to Eniros existing products
- 6 months from a decision to launch (see over success case with Eniro Navigation further down)
The Challenge is to find and suggest an interesting
collaboration with Eniro within local search that can be integrated or added to
Eniros existing products. The partnership can be based on existing technology,
but needs to be new and innovative for the Eniro platform.
INCENTIVES (PRIZES AND JUDGES)
The main incentive for participating in the Eniro Tech
Challenge is the opportunity to form a commercial partnership with potential to
boost your business and make real profits. The conditions for the deal depend
on the specific product and partner, this may be based on licensing fee, revenue
sharing, purchase or other form of payment.
The finalists will get the opportunity to attend the
”Dragon’s Den” and meet the jury (that will be presented shortly).
CRITERIA FOR PARTICIPATION
- The idea should be based on a digital product.
- Service or technology that can be ready for launch in cooperation with Eniro within 6 months from a decision to collaborate.
- If your idea is about reselling of a product or service it should be in the form of white label or co-branding.
- The partnership should have a clear advantage for Eniro (in terms of increased revenues or happier customers/users).

EVALUATION CRITERIA
- Relevance. It needs to be a digital business idea - preferably mobile, since we are mobile first! Here are some interesting areas we like: Social, Local, Mobile, Commerce, Booking, Cars, Search, Video, Personalized and Wearables. Since we are going into a partnership it's a clear advantage to have a good connection to Eniros business and off course our markets where we are present.
- Potential. Does the suggestion solve a problem, improve a technical solution, identify a new market, or fill a gap in the market? Is there high business potential and scalability?
- Additional secondary criteria. Basically, we are looking for a clear innovative business idea with good growth potential backed by a great team/company.
SUCCESS CASE: NAVIGATION APP
In 2013, Eniro wanted to develop a new product for existing
users and started looking at a navigation service.
The initial idea was to develop the service internally.
Rather, Eniro soon realized that it would become a complicated, expensive and
time consuming project. The conclusion was that there must be others who
already know this area better than Eniro.
Finding the right partner was not obvious. Potential
partners lacked the commitment to collaborate that Eniro desired and there was
not a third party solution in place.
Eniro contacted Portuguese nDrive who had successfully made
a similar white label solution for Solocal, a Local Search Company which is
Eniros equivalent in France.
Initially, Eniro had hesitations, however after constructive
communication with nDrive it was agreed that this partnership would be
beneficial to users. A perfect match was found in nDrive with their
entrepreneurial drive and the launch of a white label solution was delivered in
three months. In another quarter, the service was further developed and has
since become a user success.
The agreement was based on revenue sharing of advertising
sold by Eniros sales force and in-app sales.
